How to Care for Your Bras

Elastic is the shortest-lived part of any bra, and heat is its enemy. Care well and a good style lasts two years or more; care badly and it loses shape in a season.

Wash by Hand, Gently

Use cool water and a mild detergent. Let pieces soak for a few minutes, press the water through the fabric rather than wringing, and rinse until the water runs clear.

Dry Flat, Never Hot

Lay flat on a towel away from direct sun, and never use a dryer. Heat breaks down elastane fibres permanently — no amount of resting will bring the stretch back.

Rotate three bras rather than wearing one favourite daily. Elastic needs rest.

Store With Shape in Mind

Stack moulded cups inside one another rather than folding them over, and keep soft styles rolled in a drawer. Fasten the hooks before storing so nothing snags.
